Brown grew up in Fort Mill, SC and earned a bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. He fly fished often during high school and college, and in 2006 spent his first summer living in Jackson Hole, WY. After graduation the next spring Brown headed back to Jackson Hole where he managed the ORVIS store for three years. In 2010 Brown made the tough decision to leave Jackson, move closer to home, and started Brown Trout Fly Fishing in Asheville, North Carolina. In 2011 Brown became the ORVIS endorsed fly fishing guide for the Asheville, NC area. Brown’s passion for Fly Fishing is a perfect fit for guiding wade and float trips in North Carolina and Tennessee. Spending as much time on the water with great people is a true blessing for him.
Brown lives just outside Asheville in Black Mountain, NC with his fiancée Annie and their black lab Ginny. He fly fishes for trout as much as possible, but also loves smallmouth bass, developing new flies, hiking, camping, hunting, and saltwater fly fishing. Brown tries to catch at least one new species on the fly every year, and believes learning new skills should never end. His extensive fly fishing experiences comprised of trips in: North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, Alaska, the Florida Keys, and Belize give him the skills necessary to ensure you have a great day on the water.
